What should i do if i have been in an accident?

Stop your vehicle at or near the crash site. If your vehicle can be moved, get it off the road so it doesn’t block traffic or cause another accident. Turn off your ignition

Check if anyone is injured; call the police (911)

Get names of all the people involved in the accident, and any witnesses

Exchange Insurance Company, policy number, and Drivers License information, Name, Address, Drivers License number, vehicle license plate, make, model, and year of vehicle

Record any and all damages to the vehicles involved or take photos of the other party’s vehicle. Do not discuss “fault” or apologize for the accident

Contact Ye Old Station Auto Body, Inc. and we will assist you with reporting your claim

will the paint on the repaired part of my vehicle march the old paint of the rest of the vehicle?

Yes.  We use an automated computer paint mixing system, with the finest Spies Hecker paint.  We also rely on professional training and years of experience to color match your paint and blend into the existing color.

Is the work that is done to repair my vehicle guaranteed?

Yes, you will be provided a written lifetime warranty that covers all repairs made by Ye Old Station Auto Body, Inc.

How can i get a rental car?

We offer loaner cars, so if you need a rental car, we can help you make the necessary arrangements.  Also, we work with Enterprise Rent-A-Car, so they can provide pickup at our repair facility.  Insurance companies will only pay for a rental car if you have that option on your policy.  Check your policy and/or call your insurance company to find out if you have rental coverage and what your specific limitations are.

Who pays the tow bills?

The insurance company responsible for paying for your repairs is also responsible for paying the tow bill to the shop of your choice.  If the insurance company selected a shop and you prefer to go elsewhere, they are still obligated to pay for the additional tow.

How long will it take to repair my vehicle?

The length of time is dependent on the extent of the damage, availability of parts, and your insurance adjustor’s timeliness.  Most repairs will take under one week but some vehicles that have a lot of damage may take up to 30 days to repair.  Our experienced staff will make every effort to get your vehicle repaired in a timely manner.  When preparing your estimate we will provide you with an estimated time of completion, and if additional damage is found after teardown, we will contact you immediately to advise of any changes.

Can frame damage be properly repaired?

The answer is yes, if the frame has not been permanently weakened by a tear or kink.  Also, some areas of the crush zone are off limits to repair.  Serious damage may require a frame component section or replacement.  Today’s light cars are designed with a uni-body frame, meaning most of the vehicle core is part of the frame structure.  It is very common and safe for a competent shop to correctly repair a vehicle frame.

Recommendations and precautions after refinishing in the first 30 days

  • Wash the vehicle by hand with cool water and a very mild car wash solution using a soft cloth or sponge
  • Always use clean fresh water
  • Wash your vehicle in the shade
  • Do not use a commercial car wash. Stiff brushes or sponges could mar the finish and damage the surface
  • Do not “dry wipe” your vehicle. Dry wiping can scratch the finish
  • Do not scrape ice or snow from the newly painted surface. Scrapers can act like a paint scraper on a newly painted finish.
  • Do not wax or polish the vehicle. This will allow the finish to dry and harden completely
